Unless otherwise qualified, a person shall be admitted to certification as a soil classifier-in-training. The certification shall be valid for four (4) years, if he or she is a person who: (1) Is a graduate of a soils curriculum approved by the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and has passed an examination in the fundamentals of soil classification; or (2) Is an applicant who has completed a soil curriculum not approved by the commission, who has a specific record of one (1) year of soil classification experience of a grade and character satisfactory to the commission, and who passes an examination in the fundamentals of soil classification.
