(a) A person who violates this chapter may be assessed a civil penalty of no more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) per violation. (b) Any person who knowingly gives false information with respect to the matters required to be maintained in the records provided for in this chapter is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
