The licensing provisions of this chapter shall not apply to: (1) Plumbing work done by a property owner in a building owned and occupied by him or her as his or her home except when the license is required by local ordinance; (2) Work done on buildings whose primary use is agricultural and located outside the incorporated limits of any city or town unless the buildings are connected to a public water system, sewerage system, or natural gas utility system; (3) Minor repairs consisting of repairing minor working parts of plumbing, fixtures, or the removal of stoppages; (4) An individual certifying or repairing backflow devices within the scope of a plumbing system if the individual holds a certificate of competency from the Plumbing and Natural Gas Section of the Department of Health; or (5) The construction, installation, maintenance, repair, renovation, or removal of a storm sewer system not connected to a sanitary sewer system.
