Rules - Federally funded projects - Contractor qualifications

(a) (1) The Contractors Licensing Board shall have the power to promulgate rules for the efficient enforcement of this chapter and shall also have the power to assign the right or give permission to any state agency, board, or commission to determine qualifications of a contractor solely for the purpose of submitting a bid to the state agency, board, or commission on projects involving federal aid funds before the contractor's being licensed by the Contractors Licensing Board. (2) No state agency, board, or commission shall execute any construction contract involving federal aid funds unless and until the successful bidder for the project furnishes a certificate of license issued by the Contractors Licensing Board. (b) (1) The Contractors Licensing Board shall have the power to provide by rule for any political subdivision or other political corporation to accept bids from unlicensed contractors for projects involving federal funds. (2) However, no contractor shall submit a bid under this section before submitting application for licensure, and no political subdivision or political corporation shall execute any construction contract unless and until the successful bidder for the project furnishes an appropriate license issued by the Contractors Licensing Board.
