Procedures for release - Generally

(a) An inmate under sentence for a felony and who is eligible for release may be transferred to post-release supervision under this section and § 16-93-1903 subject to rules promulgated by the Board of Corrections or the Post-Prison Transfer Board and conditions adopted by the Post-Prison Transfer Board. (b) Notwithstanding any minimum serving requirement, upon recommendation of the Director of the Division of Correction, the Post-Prison Transfer Board may consider an inmate for transfer to post-release supervision if: (1) The inmate is at least sixty (60) years of age; and (2) The inmate has served at least one-half (½) of his or her sentence.
