Certification of execution

(a) The Director of the Division of Correction shall certify the fact of the execution of the condemned felon to the clerk of the court by which the sentence was pronounced, who shall file the certificate with the papers of the case and enter it upon the records of the case. (b) If the office of director is abolished, the duties devolving on him or her shall be performed by any other person selected by any board or commission having charge of the Division of Correction.
