Fee bills of officers and witnesses

(a) All officers and witnesses entitled to fees by the law for services rendered in any suit, matter, or controversy pending in any court of record may make out fee bills for the services at the end of each term of the court wherein the suit, matter, or controversy is pending, charging the party at whose instance the services were rendered. (b) The fee bill shall be examined by the clerk of the court in which the services were rendered. If found correct, the clerk shall certify the fee bill and deliver the fee bill to the sheriff of the proper county to be collected by him or her. Acts 1842, §§ 27, 28, p. 27; C. & M.
