(a) The Arkansas Fair Housing Commission is encouraged to cooperate with the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and the United States Attorney General in the enforcement of the Fair Housing Act of 1968, 42 U.S.C. § 3601 et seq., as in effect January 1, 2001, and may assist the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development or the United States Attorney General in any way consistent with the policies of this subchapter. (b) The commission shall treat a complaint referred by the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development or the United States Attorney General under the Fair Housing Act of 1968, 42 USC § 3601 et seq., as in effect January 1, 2001, as a complaint filed under this section.
