(a) No later than June 30, 2016, the Arkansas Workforce Development Board shall identify regions in the state after consultation with the local workforce development boards and chief elected officials in the local workforce development areas. (b) The Arkansas Workforce Development Board shall identify: (1) Which regions comprise one (1) local workforce development area that is aligned with the region; (2) Which regions comprise two (2) or more local workforce development areas that are collectively aligned with the planning regions; and (3) Which of the regions described in subdivisions (b)(1) and (2) of this section are interstate areas contained within two (2) or more states, and consist of labor market areas, economic development areas, or other appropriate contiguous subareas of those states.
