(a) The State Parks, Recreation, and Travel Commission or the Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism is authorized to accept gifts, grants, or donations from the United States Government or agencies thereof, and some private individuals, foundations, or concerns to be used in furtherance of the purposes of this subchapter. (b) (1) The commission shall annually review the amount of funds appropriated by the General Assembly and other funds that may be available therefor. (2) (A) The commission shall apportion the funds at the beginning of each fiscal year on an equal basis to the various participating regional tourist promotion agencies or associations recognized by the commission. (B) However, each natural planning region shall be eligible for at least one thousand dollars ($1,000) annually but shall not be eligible for more than twenty percent (20%) of the appropriation made to the commission for the purposes set forth in this subchapter.
