As used in this subchapter: (1) "Commission" means the State Parks, Recreation, and Travel Commission or the Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism or any successor agency designated by law to promote tourist travel and vacation business in Arkansas; (2) "Natural planning regions" means the respective counties composing each of the fourteen (14) natural planning regions as defined by the Arkansas Economic Development Council and which are outlined on the records and maps maintained by the council as natural planning regions of this state existing on August 6, 1969; (3) "Regional tourist promotion agency" means a corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of the Arkansas Nonprofit Corporation Act, § 4-28-201 et seq., or the Arkansas Nonprofit Corporation Act of 1993, § 4-33-101 et seq., established for the purposes authorized in this subchapter and which is recognized by the commission or its successor agency as qualifying under the provisions of this subchapter; and (4) "Tourism division" means the Tourism Division of the Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism or its successor agency.
