Purpose of commission

The general purpose of the planning commission is to: (1) Prepare, or have prepared, a plan of the municipality; (2) Receive and make recommendations on public and private proposals for development; (3) Prepare and administer planning regulations; (4) Prepare and transmit to the legislative body recommended ordinances implementing plans; and (5) Advise and counsel the city government and other public bodies.
