(a) The President of the University of Arkansas shall appoint a Director of the Arkansas Archeological Survey who shall have a doctor of philosophy degree in anthropology with a specialization in archeology or the equivalent in training and experience who shall be responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the Arkansas Archeological Survey, and who shall serve at the pleasure of the president. (b) The director shall perform the duties that may be set by the president and may be paid from funds appropriated for the survey.
