(a) The Attorney General shall be the legal representative and advisor of the Arkansas State Police Commission, the Division of Arkansas State Police, and the Director of the Division of Arkansas State Police. (b) However, the director, with the approval of the Attorney General and Governor, may employ other counsel when in the Attorney General's and Governor's judgment it is necessary for the proper enforcement of the provisions of this chapter and the efficient operation of the division. (c) However, this chapter shall not be construed as relieving the prosecuting attorneys from any duties imposed upon them by law. Amended by Act 2019, No. 910,§ 5773, eff. 7/1/2019.
