(a) The governing bodies in the various municipalities in this state may establish a daily fee to be charged counties for keeping prisoners of counties in the municipal jail. (b) The fee shall be based upon the reasonable expenses which the municipality incurs in keeping such prisoners in the municipal jail. (c) Counties whose prisoners are maintained in a municipal jail shall be responsible for paying the fee established. Acts 1981, No. 796, § 2; A.S.A. 1947, § 46-707.
