(a) (1) The Rules Committee of the Senate and the Rules Committee of the House of Representatives are authorized to meet jointly or separately at any time during the interim between legislative sessions as the Rules Committee of the Senate and the Rules Committee of the House of Representatives shall deem necessary or desirable to review the Rules of the Senate, the Rules of the House of Representatives, and the Joint Rules of the House of Representatives and the Senate and to make recommendations for revisions in the rules or new rules as the Rules Committee of the Senate and the Rules Committee of the House of Representatives shall deem appropriate. (2) In addition to meeting under subdivision (a)(1) of this section, the Rules Committee of the Senate is authorized to meet during the interim between legislative sessions to: (A) Consider gubernatorial appointments; and (B) Make recommendations to the Senate regarding confirmation of appointments under subdivision (a)(2)(A) of this section. (b) The members of the Rules Committee of the Senate and the Rules Committee of the House of Representatives shall be entitled to receive per diem at the rate set for attendance at meetings of the subject matter interim committees of the House and Senate for attending subject matter or separate meetings of the Rules Committee of the Senate and the Rules Committee of the House of Representatives.
