Prisoners of War Remembrance Day

(a) The ninth day of April of each year shall hereafter be known as "Prisoners of War Remembrance Day". (b) On this day every Arkansan is encouraged to commemorate the sacrifices of those persons who suffered captivity in foreign lands while in the service of their country. Furthermore, all Arkansans are encouraged to devote some portion of Prisoners of War Remembrance Day in solemn contemplation on the plight of the men and women of this country who have been held prisoners of war. (c) The superintendent of each public school in this state shall arrange for appropriate exercises on campus to commemorate Prisoners of War Remembrance Day. Acts 1989, No. 519, § 1.
