(a) As used in this section, "public building" means a structure occupied by an agency of the State of Arkansas or its political subdivisions. (b) The State of Arkansas may honor and pay tribute to a member of the armed services who is killed in action by lowering a state flag located on a public building to half-staff any time after learning of the death of a member of the armed services for a period not to exceed three (3) days. (c) This section applies to a member of the armed services who was or has been a resident of the State of Arkansas. Acts 2009, No. 30, § 1; 2011, No. 1182, § 1.
