48-508. Order for improvement; initiation of condemnation proceedings Having acquired jurisdiction, the council may, by resolution, order the improvement to be made and direct an action to be brought by the city or town attorney, in the name of the municipality, for condemnation of the property to be taken. The action shall be brought within thirty days after passage of the resolution ordering the improvement, but the council may, by resolution, extend the time for bringing the action for an additional period not exceeding thirty days. The action shall be governed by the law of eminent domain, except as otherwise provided.
