31-104. Employment of temporary guards The sheriff may, when necessary, with the written consent of the county board of supervisors, employ temporary guards for protection of the county jail or safekeeping of prisoners, the expenses of which shall be a county charge or, if a county jail district has been established, a charge of the district.
