15-201. State board of education; members; appointment; terms A. The state board of education shall be composed of the superintendent of public instruction, the president of a state university or a state college, four lay members, a president or chancellor of a community college district, a person who is an owner or administrator of a charter school, a superintendent of a high school district, a classroom teacher and a county school superintendent. A member who is a president of a state university or a state college shall not succeed himself. B. The governor shall appoint each member, other than the superintendent of public instruction, pursuant to section 38-211 for a term of four years beginning on the third Monday in January.
