11-935.01. Open space land acquisition The acquisition of interests or rights in real property for the preservation of open spaces or areas constitutes a public purpose for which public funds may be expended or advanced. For the purposes of this section, " open space lands or open area" means any space or area characterized by great natural scenic beauty or whose existing openness, natural condition or present state of use, if retained, would maintain or enhance the conservation of natural or scenic resources, or the production of food and fiber.
