(a) There is created within the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development a division of insurance, which shall be located in or convenient to the office occupied by the commissioner of commerce, community, and economic development. (b) The division of insurance shall be under the administrative control of the commissioner of commerce, community, and economic development and the supervision of the director of the division of insurance.
