(a) A person commits the crime of criminal possession of a forgery device if, with intent to use it or aid another to use it for purposes of forgery, the person makes or possesses (1) a plate, die, or other device, apparatus, equipment, or article specifically designed for use in forging written instruments; or (2) a device, apparatus, equipment, or article capable of or adaptable for purposes of forgery. (b) Criminal possession of a forgery device is a class C felony.
