(a) A person commits the crime of arson in the third degree if the person intentionally damages a motor vehicle (1) by starting a fire or causing an explosion while that vehicle is located on public land; or (2) that is the property of another person by starting a fire or causing an explosion while that vehicle is located on private property. (b) Arson in the third degree is a class C felony.
