(a) Any hunting accident involving a gun or bow and arrow when such accident results in death and when such death is caused by one person against another, upon the recommendation of the conservation department, shall be investigated by the grand jury of the county in which said death occurs. (b) All accidents referred to in subsection (a) of this section shall be reported by the law enforcement agency chiefly involved in the investigation of said death to the office of the Director of the Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources within 72 hours of said death, by the coroner and the sheriff’s department of the county in which the death occurred.
