Salary of Judge of Probate

(a) The Judge of Probate of Calhoun County shall receive an annual salary equal to the state base salary paid to a state district court judge. In addition, the judge of probate shall be entitled to any increases in salary, including cost-of-living increases, in the same amount and the same manner as a district judge having the same number of cumulative years of service that the judge of probate has at that time. (b) The salary provided by this section shall be in lieu of any and all other prior compensation or salary, not including any expense allowance, provided by law to the judge of probate, and shall be paid in equal periodic installments from the general fund of the county. (c) In order to receive the compensation provided under subsection (a), the judge of probate shall waive any compensation provided under Section 17-3-60, relating to reports from the state voter registration list.
