Salary and Expense Allowance of Judge of Probate

(a) Beginning on the first day of the first month next following the salary of the Judge of Probate of Russell County shall be forty-five thousand dollars ($45,000), payable in equal monthly installments from the county treasury. (b)(1) Commencing on November 1, 2013, the Judge of Probate of Russell County shall receive an additional expense allowance in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per annum, which shall be in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary provided by law. This expense allowance shall be payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county. (2) Beginning with the expiration of the term of the incumbent judge of probate, the annual salary for the Judge of Probate of Russell County shall be increased by ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per annum, payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county and at that time, subsection (a) shall become null and void. The salary provided by this subsection shall be the total compensation of the judge of probate and shall be in lieu of any other compensation, salary, or expense allowance currently provided by law. (c) Commencing June 1, 2020, the Judge of Probate of Russell County shall receive an additional annual salary increase in the amount of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) per year payable in equal monthly installments, which shall be in addition to any other compensation or salary provided by law.
