Deputy Tax Assessor; Clerks; Part-Time Employees; Compensation

(a) In Pike County, the county commission may employ a deputy tax assessor, a deputy tax collector, and a deputy clerk of the circuit court. The employees shall serve at the pleasure of the county commission and the compensation of the employees shall be set by the county commission. (b) The county commission may employ clerks to assist the tax assessor, the tax collector, and the judge of probate in the performance of their official duties. The number of clerks shall be established by the county commission. The clerks shall serve at the pleasure of the county commission and the compensation of the clerks shall be set by the county commission. (c) The county commission may hire additional part-time employees for any county department as the commission deems necessary. The part-time employees shall serve at the pleasure of the county commission and compensation of the part-time employees shall be set by the county commission. (d) The compensation of all employees hired under this section shall be payable in equal monthly installments from the county general fund or from any funds available for use by the county.
