(a) In Pike County, each member of the board of registrars shall be entitled to receive additional compensation in the amount of ten dollars ($10) per day, payable out of the general fund of the county treasury. Such amount shall be in addition to any and all other amounts provided for by law and shall be paid only for those days the board is authorized to meet and conduct business. (b)(1) The Pike County Commission may grant each member of the Pike County Board of Registrars an additional expense allowance in an amount not to exceed twenty dollars ($20) per day for each day when the board is authorized to meet and conduct business. This expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all other compensation, salary, and expense allowances provided by law and shall be paid out of the county general fund. (2) Effective with the expiration of the term of any member of the Pike County Board of Registrars, the Pike County Commission may increase the salary of the members of the board of registrars not to exceed twenty dollars ($20) per day for each day the board is authorized to meet and conduct business payable from the county general fund. In the event a salary increase is granted pursuant to this subsection, any expense allowance granted pursuant to subdivision (1) shall expire and at that time, subdivision (1) shall be null and void.
