Board of Education - Compensation

The compensation for the members of the school board shall be three hundred dollars ($300) per month to be paid from the city school system funds, unless changed pursuant to this section. The board may change the amount of compensation by majority vote, but any vote to establish or change compensation shall be held at least one month prior to the deadline for qualification of candidates for seats on the board and shall not take effect until the next term of office of the members of the board. Members of the board shall be reimbursed for documented expenses associated with activities outside of the City of Decatur in the performance of their duties as board members.
