The Board of Education of Morgan County, by resolution duly adopted and entered upon the minutes of the board, may fix and provide for an annual allowance for expenses to be provided each member of the board. Such allowance shall not, however, exceed one thousand eight hundred dollars ($1,800) per annum, and shall be paid in equal monthly installments out of the public school funds of the county. Such expense allowance when so fixed shall be in lieu of any and all other expense allowances heretofore provided by law for members of the county board of education. Provided, however, that each member of the board shall be reimbursed out of such school funds forty dollars ($40) per day, plus their actual expenses incurred, when they are out of the county on board business.
