The board of trustees shall be authorized to pay out of the fund all reasonable and necessary expenses that may be incurred by it in and about the performance of its duties under this subpart and in and about the management and administration of the fund; provided that in no event shall the members of the board of trustees receive any salary or compensation for their services out of the fund.
