(a) All classified employment with the city is contingent upon all of the following: (1) Availability of funds. (2) The city’s need for work to be done. (3) The employee’s compliance with all rules, policies, and procedures established in accordance with this subpart. (4) Satisfactory job performance by the employee. (b) All classified employees who have successfully completed a probationary period shall not be separated from city employment without a hearing before the appeals board established in Section 45-51A-32.186 pursuant to the rules, policies, and procedures adopted by the department if the employee requests a hearing.
