School Council Teacher and Parent Representatives

The teacher representatives in a pilot program shall be selected for two-year terms by a majority of voting teachers at the school. The parent representatives on the school council shall be selected as follows: Two parent representatives shall be parents of children in the school and shall be selected for two-year terms by a majority of voting parents of the school as a whole. One parent representative shall be the president of the officially recognized parent-teacher organization at each school. If there is no active parent-teacher organization, a third parent representative shall be selected. The principal or administrator shall be the chair of the school council.
