Renewal of Motor Vehicle Registrations by Mail or Via the Internet

(a) The Revenue Commissioner of Marion County may set and collect an additional mail fee from any person renewing a motor vehicle registration by mail or over the Internet to offset the costs of the renewal, including the costs of the mailing of the motor vehicle license decals or license plates to the person renewing the registration. The revenue commissioner may set the mail fee on each transaction not to exceed five dollars ($5). All fees authorized under this section shall be collected and deposited in the Revenue Commissioner Fund and used for the operation of the office of the revenue commissioner. (b) The provisions of this section are supplemental to any other authority or fees of the revenue commissioner. This section shall not affect the option of any person to renew the registration of a motor vehicle in person in the office of the revenue commissioner.
