(a) Beginning on June 1, 2024, the Revenue Commissioner of Marion County shall receive an additional expense allowance in an amount that brings his or her total compensation to seventy-two thousand dollars ($72,000) per year to be paid out of the county general fund. The expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all other compensation, salary, or expense allowances provided by law. (b) Beginning with the next term of office after June 1, 2024, the expense allowance provided in subsection (a) shall be void, and the Revenue Commissioner of Marion County shall receive a total yearly salary of seventy-two thousand dollars ($72,000), which shall be in lieu of any other compensation, salary, or expense allowance provided by law for the revenue commissioner for the performance of his or her official duties. The compensation provided by Section 11-2A-3, shall be considered to be included in the total yearly salary.
