(a) In Limestone County, the county commissioners, upon appropriate request, may provide assistance in the maintenance, restoration, care, and protection of any ancient cemetery or burial ground, as herein defined, located within the geographical perimeters of such county, and may appropriate funds for that purpose. (b) As used herein, the term ancient cemetery or burial ground means any land or structure located in Limestone County dedicated to and used for the interment of human remains, and which at the time Limestone County assists in the maintenance, restoration, care, and protection thereof has two or more graves therein which are at least 100 years old.
