(a) The Judge of Probate of Lauderdale County is authorized to charge a fee of fifteen dollars ($15) for celebrating the rites of matrimony and may retain the fee for his or her personal use. This fee is in addition to any salary provided by law. (b) The provisions of this section are retroactive to June 1, 2000, and any actions of the judge of probate taken related to the fee for celebrating the rites of matrimony in compliance with this section are ratified and confirmed.
