(a) In Franklin County, the judge of probate shall receive as compensation a salary in an amount equal to that received by the circuit judge, which shall be payable in equal monthly installments by proper warrant drawn on the general fund of the county. (b) Any compensation or expense allowance allowed by law to be paid to the officer in his or her capacity as chair of the county commission shall continue to be paid the officer.
