(a) Effective beginning on the same date that the sheriff commences his or her next term in January 2027, the Revenue Commissioner of Cleburne County shall receive a salary of seventy-two thousand dollars ($72,000) per year payable in installments as provided on June 1, 2025. The salary provided by this section shall supersede any salary provided to the revenue commissioner prior to June 1, 2025. (b) Commencing in October 2028 and thereafter, the revenue commissioner shall be entitled to receive any cost-of-living increases granted to county officers and employees, notwithstanding any law to the contrary.
