(a) The Sheriff of Clarke County may charge and collect a reasonable fee for services, including, but not limited to, all of the following: (1) Fingerprinting. (2) Reports. (3) Copies of various requested records. (4) Photo identification cards. (5) Funeral duties. (6) Court-ordered ankle monitors. (b) The sheriff may not charge a fee authorized in subsection (a) to either of the following: (1) A law enforcement agency or law enforcement officer requesting a service for law enforcement purposes. (2) The district attorney or a grand jury requesting a service for a law enforcement, investigatory, or prosecutorial function. (c)(1) The sheriff shall remit the fees collected pursuant to this section periodically to the Clarke County Commission. (2) The county commission shall deposit all monies collected pursuant to subdivision (a)(6) in the Sheriff’s Fund, created pursuant to Section 45-13-232 for law enforcement purposes in the county. (d) The proceeds of the fees collected pursuant to this section shall not diminish or take the place of any other source of income for the county or the sheriff’s office.
