(a) This section shall be operative only in Clarke County. (b) The Sheriff of Clarke County, Alabama, shall receive an annual salary equal to his or her current salary and expense allowances effective on the commencement of the next term of office of the sheriff beginning after August 31, 1993. The salary shall be paid in equal monthly installments from the county treasury and shall be in lieu of any other salaries or expense allowances heretofore provided by law for the sheriff.
