The Secretary of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency may appoint a designee as the Homeland Security Advisor under subsection (d) of Section 41-27-2. The Secretary of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency shall consider the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state when appointing the designee.
