Except as specifically provided by this chapter, no individual may do any of the following unless licensed pursuant to this chapter: (1) Advertise that he or she performs massage therapy or related touch therapy modalities. (2) Hold himself or herself out to the public as a massage therapist, using any name or description denoting himself or herself as a massage therapist, or purporting to have the skills necessary to perform massage therapy. (3) Practice massage therapy on the general public for compensation.
