(a) A certificate of apprenticeship issued in accordance with this chapter shall be renewed annually in accordance with Section 34-13-53. (b)(1) If an apprentice fails to renew his or her apprentice certification in accordance with this chapter, the certification may be reinstated with application for reactivation, payment of all fees and penalties, and approval by the board within a period prescribed by the board. (2) Only one course of apprenticeship shall be allowed, and not more than two reactivations shall be granted by the board during the course of the apprenticeship. (3) The board may allow an apprentice credit under a reactivation for time served under a previous certificate.
