“Sailboard” Defined; Hull Deemed Flotation Device

REPEALED BY ACT 2023-363, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2024. (a) For the purposes of this section “sailboard” means any sailboat whose unsupported mast is connected by a snivel or a flexible universal joint to a hull similar to the hull of a surfboard. (b) Any law, rule or regulation to the contrary notwithstanding, the hull of a sailboard shall be deemed to be a flotation device. Any sailboarder or wind surfer is exempt from any additional type of personal flotation device.
