(a) Each nondriver identification card issued to any person, except cards issued pursuant to Section 32-6-4.1, who is less than 62 years of age shall expire eight years from the date of issuance or as otherwise provided by the rules and regulations of the Director of the Department of Public Safety. (b) Each nondriver identification card issued to any person who is 62 years of age or older or to any person pursuant to Section 32-6-4.1 shall expire as provided by the rules and regulations of the Director of the Department of Public Safety. (c) Each nondriver identification card may be subject to renewal, reissue, suspension, or revocation by rules and regulations of the Director of the Department of Public Safety, or as otherwise provided by law. (d) The Director of the Department of Public Safety may adopt and enforce reasonable rules and regulations relating to the fraudulent use, misuse, or abuse of the privilege of using a nondriver identification card, or for purposes of obtaining current information or recent photograph at least every eight years.
