Express Consent - Filing; Timing

(a) All existing express consents or relinquishments required by this chapter shall be filed with the probate court along with the petition. Any other express consents or relinquishments required by this chapter and acquired while the petition for adoption is pending shall be filed with the court overseeing the adoption before the final judgment of adoption is entered. (b) An express consent or relinquishment may be taken at any time, except that, once signed or confirmed, may be withdrawn for any reason within five business days after the birth of the adoptee or within five business days after the signing of the express consent or relinquishment, whichever comes last.
