(a) In the event of conflict between the requirements of this article and zoning laws or ordinances that regulate the height and location of airport hazards, and that meet or exceed the standards contained in 14 C.F.R. Part 77, that have been duly adopted by political subdivisions where an airport is located, the local zoning laws and ordinances shall control. The department shall publish and maintain a list of all political subdivisions with zoning laws or ordinances that meet or exceed the standards contained in 14 C.F.R. Part 77. (b) Nothing in this article shall be construed to authorize or expand the power of a political subdivision to establish local zoning laws or ordinances with respect to airport hazards, structures, groups of structures, or objects of natural growth.
